America doesn't really want police officers anymore, it wants soldiers. And those soldiers aren't being paid to protect the citizens they live among. We've been taught to obey everything told to us by those in authoritative positions without question, but the fear of consequence has always been the tool to ensure compliance. Questions that arise in defiance are often met with dismissal, violence and arrest. We've been made afraid to stand up for what we believe in if that stand doesn't fall in line with what we've been programmed to understand as truth.
in 2014, you don't have to be a minority to feel trapped in your own country, state, city or home because almost everything that's unfolding is affecting us all. The fear of pain, imprisonment and death is as real as anything in today's emotionally charged socioeconomic systems but no longer is proof of crime required to receive punishment. Our country belongs to all of us, meanwhile many of us have fallen victim to the perception of what is felt that we deserve.
